Odisha Governor Felicitates Padma Shri Awardees, Civil Services Achievers

Bhubaneswar, May 16 : Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati on Friday felicitated Padma Shri awardee designates from the state, the Kendriya Sahitya Akademi Award 2025 recipient, and successful candidates of the Civil Services Examination 2025 along with their parents at a special ceremony held at the New Abhishek Hall in Lok Bhavan.

Addressing the gathering, the Governor described the occasion as a celebration of excellence, creativity, dedication, and public service. He said the achievements of the honourees were not merely personal milestones but inspiring examples of perseverance, hard work, and commitment to society.

Congratulating the achievers, Kambhampati said Odisha takes immense pride in its distinguished sons and daughters who have brought laurels to the state and the nation through their remarkable contributions in literature, education, arts, culture, and public administration.

Among those felicitated was Mahendra Kumar Mishra, who has been recognised in the field of Literature and Education for his pioneering work in documenting and preserving Odisha’s tribal folklore and cultural heritage.

Charan Hembram was honoured for his invaluable contribution to the promotion of Santali language, literature, and culture.

The Governor also felicitated Simanchal Patro, an eminent Prahallada Nataka artist from Ganjam district, and Sarat Kumar Patra, a noted master weaver and exponent of Bandha Kala, for their outstanding efforts in preserving and promoting Odisha’s rich artistic and handloom traditions.

Girija Kumar Baliyarsingh was felicitated for receiving the Kendriya Sahitya Akademi Award 2025 for his poetry collection Padapurana. The Governor described literature as a powerful medium that preserves collective memory, enriches culture, and inspires society.

Kambhampati also congratulated the successful Civil Services Examination candidates and acknowledged the important role played by parents in shaping their journeys. He urged the young civil servants to uphold integrity, compassion, and dedication to public welfare while contributing towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

The programme featured cultural performances and interactive sessions where the achievers shared their inspiring experiences, making the event a memorable celebration of Odisha’s talent, heritage, and excellence.
