Odisha seeks 190 EV charging stations

The Odisha government has urged the Centre to approve the establishment of 190 EV charging stations across six key cities under the PM E-Drive Scheme, officials said on Wednesday.

The proposal has been submitted by the State Transport Authority under the Commerce and Transport Department to the Ministry of Heavy Industries.

According to the plan, EV charging infrastructure will be developed at 190 locations across Angul, Balasore, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Kalinganagar, and Puri.

The initiative aims to strengthen electric vehicle infrastructure in the state, promote sustainable mobility, and support the growing adoption of EVs.

Officials said the move would enhance urban transport systems, reduce carbon emissions, and align with the broader push towards clean energy and green transportation.
