Rajnath Singh to Inaugurate Defence Industries Conclave 2026
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the National Defence Industries Conclave (NDIC) 2026 in the national capital on March 19, aimed at boosting advanced manufacturing and strengthening India’s defence ecosystem.
Organised by the Department of Defence Production, the two-day conclave will be held at the Manekshaw Centre under the theme ‘Advanced Manufacturing Technologies’.
The event seeks to enhance the integration of MSMEs and startups into defence manufacturing while promoting cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, additive manufacturing and smart materials. The initiative aligns with the government’s push for self-reliance in defence production.
The conclave will bring together stakeholders including defence public sector undertakings, private companies, innovators, policymakers, academia and technology providers to encourage collaboration and innovation in the sector.
An exhibition showcasing advanced defence technologies and manufacturing capabilities will be inaugurated during the event. Around 24 Indian and international firms are expected to participate, highlighting opportunities for partnerships across the defence supply chain.
In addition, the Defence Minister will launch new innovation challenges for startups and MSMEs, while key publications on defence manufacturing and policy reforms will also be released.
The event will feature multiple sessions focusing on sectors such as aerospace, naval systems, defence electronics and advanced materials, with discussions centred on indigenisation, innovation and technological advancement.
Officials said the conclave is expected to accelerate India’s journey towards a self-reliant and globally competitive defence manufacturing ecosystem.
