Zeenat Aman admits dancing lacked confidence

Veteran actor Zeenat Aman has revealed that she was never a very confident dancer during her film career as she lacked formal training, unlike many of her contemporaries in the Hindi film industry.
Sharing a nostalgic moment with fans on Instagram, Aman posted a video clip of the song “Oh Diwano Dil Samhalo” from her 1979 film The Great Gambler. The actor described the track as one of her personal favourites from the film.
Reflecting on her dancing abilities, Aman said she often felt less confident performing elaborate dance routines because she had never received professional training in dance. According to her, many filmmakers eventually understood this and avoided giving her complicated choreography.
The song, sung by legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, features Aman portraying a bold and confident character. She noted that the number captured the “confidence and sass of a woman who knows her desirability.”
Aman also mentioned that while the romantic track Do Lafzon Ki Hai Dil Ki Kahani became the most popular song from the film, “Oh Diwano Dil Samhalo” remains her personal favourite because of its strong and self-assured portrayal of a woman.
The veteran actor frequently shares memories from her film career on social media, offering fans a glimpse into the making of iconic moments from the golden era of Hindi cinema. 🎬✨
