BioPrime Wins Approval for 20 Biostimulants

BioPrime AgriSolutions has received regulatory clearance from the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for its entire portfolio of 20 biostimulant formulations, the company announced on Monday.

The approval, granted by the INM Biostimulant Cell under the ministry, covers a diverse range of products including humic acids, fulvic acids, seaweed extracts, botanicals, and amino acid-based formulations. The clearance applies to both foliar sprays and granular soil applications.

With this development, the Pune-based agricultural biotechnology firm joins a select group of companies in India that hold comprehensive regulatory approval for a broad spectrum of biological input products.

“This is much more than just a regulatory win,” Chief Executive Renuka Diwan said in a statement, highlighting the company’s commitment to science-driven and sustainable agricultural solutions.

Biostimulants are increasingly gaining traction among Indian farmers as they enhance nutrient uptake, improve crop resilience to environmental stress, and boost overall productivity. The regulatory clearance is expected to strengthen BioPrime’s market position and expand its reach across key agricultural regions in the country.

Industry experts note that tighter regulatory oversight of biostimulants in recent years has encouraged innovation while ensuring product efficacy and safety standards. BioPrime’s full-range approval signals its compliance with the evolving regulatory framework governing biological inputs in India.

The company said it plans to accelerate commercialization efforts and deepen engagement with farmers and agri-partners following the clearance.
