Report bribe demands directly, says minister

Odisha minister asks people to report bribery
Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Tuesday urged people to contact him directly if any officer of his department demands a bribe to get their work done.
Addressing reporters here, the minister said strict instructions have been issued to officials to ensure transparency and courteous behaviour while dealing with the public. He added that new guidelines have also been framed on how officers should treat people visiting revenue offices.
“The department is closely monitoring the day-to-day work assigned to officials, and I am personally receiving grievances and complaints from people over the phone,” Pujari said, warning of strict action against erring officers.
The minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to clean and accountable governance, stating that no form of corruption would be tolerated in the functioning of the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
