Scotland hopeful for T20 World Cup visas

Scotland optimistic on Indian visas ahead of T20 World Cup

Cricket Scotland is hopeful that its players, including Pakistan-origin pacer Safyaan Sharif, will receive visas in time to travel to India for the T20 World Cup, Cricket Scotland chief executive Trudy Lindblade said on Tuesday.

Scotland were included in the tournament after Bangladesh withdrew citing security concerns, despite the International Cricket Council (ICC) confirming there were no threats following their assessment.

The Scottish team is set to begin its campaign against the West Indies in Kolkata on February 7, marking their debut in the marquee event this year.

Lindblade expressed confidence that all logistical and administrative arrangements would be completed smoothly, allowing the team to focus on preparations and training ahead of the high-profile clash.

The inclusion of Scotland adds a new dynamic to the T20 World Cup, with fans eager to see the emerging side compete on the global stage.
