Cotton Factory Gutted in Fire in Odisha’s Balasore

A cotton processing factory was gutted in a fire that broke out in Odisha’s Balasore district on Saturday afternoon, officials said.

The blaze erupted at the factory located in the Haldipada area, destroying large quantities of stored cotton worth lakhs of rupees along with machinery. Firefighting teams rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after sustained efforts.

No injuries or loss of life were reported in the incident, officials confirmed.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and an assessment of the total damage is underway. Authorities have initiated an inquiry into the incident.
