PM Hails Startups as Growth Engines

PM Extends Best Wishes on National StartUp Day, Marks 10 Years of StartUp India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday extended his best wishes to everyone associated with the startup ecosystem on the occasion of National StartUp Day, which this year marks a decade since the launch of the StartUp India initiative.

Highlighting the significance of the milestone, the Prime Minister said the day celebrates the courage, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of Indians, particularly the youth, who have propelled India’s rise as a major global startup hub.

Describing startups as “engines of change”, Shri Modi said they are shaping the future of the economy and society by addressing global challenges while creating employment and new opportunities. He expressed pride in entrepreneurs who dared to dream big, challenged conventions and took risks to create transformative impact.

The Prime Minister noted that the Government of India has been working closely with all stakeholders to strengthen the startup ecosystem. He said the “Reform Express” undertaken by the government has created a conducive environment for startups to venture into areas once considered unthinkable, including space and defence. He added that startups are playing a pivotal role in building an Aatmanirbhar Bharat and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting youth who aspire to become innovators and problem solvers.

Shri Modi also acknowledged the contribution of mentors, incubators, investors, academic institutions and other stakeholders, stating that their guidance and support encourage young innovators and add momentum to India’s growth story.

Expressing confidence in India’s startup community, the Prime Minister said startups will continue to drive innovation, resilience and national progress. Quoting a Sanskrit Subhashitam, he praised the determination and dedication of young entrepreneurs, saying their energy and passion would be the greatest force in realising the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

In a series of posts on X, the Prime Minister reiterated his greetings and highlighted the achievements of the StartUp India initiative over the past 10 years, underlining the role of startups in shaping India’s future.
