NALCO launches Odisha youth skill training

NALCO to provide skill training for youths in Odisha
Bhubaneswar, Oct 8 (UNI): National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Mines, has signed an MoU to implement a skill training programme for youth from the peripheral villages of its operational units in Damanjodi and Angul, Odisha.
The agreement was signed between NALCO Foundation, the company’s CSR arm, and the Central Tool Room and Training Centre (CTTC), Bhubaneswar, an autonomous body under the Ministry of MSME. Under this initiative, 40 youths — 20 each from the areas surrounding NALCO’s Mines & Refinery Complex, Damanjodi, and Smelter & Power Complex, Angul — will undergo a five-month residential training programme at CTTC, Bhubaneswar.
Speaking on the occasion, NALCO CMD Brijendra Pratap Singh appreciated the initiative, stating that the programme will equip local youth with industry-ready skills and create sustainable livelihood opportunities. He noted that such CSR interventions could serve as a model for empowering rural youth and promoting inclusive development.
The training will align with the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF) of the National Skill Development Council, Government of India. This initiative reinforces NALCO’s commitment to community development and sustainable livelihood creation under its CSR efforts.
