Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan took the Oath of Office as Vice President of India today, administered by President Smt Droupadi Murmu at a ceremony held at the Ganatantra Mandap, Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The swearing-in ceremony marks the formal assumption of office by Radhakrishnan, who will serve as the second-highest constitutional authority in the country, supporting the functioning of the Rajya Sabha and stepping in as Acting President when required.
President Murmu, in her address, wished Shri Radhakrishnan success in his new role, emphasizing the importance of upholding constitutional values, democratic principles, and parliamentary decorum.
Shri Radhakrishnan’s election to the post followed a closely watched contest, and his swearing-in is expected to strengthen the functioning of India’s parliamentary institutions while ensuring continuity in leadership.
