Reliance Jio Leads Subscriber Growth in Odisha with 1.18 Lakh Additions in June

Bhubaneswar, Aug 2: Reliance Jio has once again emerged as the top telecom operator in Odisha, adding the highest number of new subscribers in June 2025, according to the latest data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

Jio recorded a total of 1.18 lakh new subscribers across its wireless, wireline, and 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) services in the state. This includes over 97,000 new mobile users and more than 21,000 additions in JioFiber and JioAirFiber segments, consolidating its dominance in Odisha’s digital connectivity landscape.

With these additions, Jio now serves over 1.63 crore mobile subscribers, more than 3.4 lakh JioFiber users, and 1.94 lakh JioAirFiber users in Odisha. The telecom giant holds over 46% market share in mobile services, more than 50% in wireline, and nearly 84% in the 5G FWA segment in the state.

The total number of mobile users in Odisha rose by over 73,000 in June, taking the overall count past 3.53 crore. Jio led this growth, while Vodafone Idea (VI) added just 4,576 mobile users, and other operators either showed marginal growth or decline.

On the national front, Jio added over 19 lakh mobile subscribers, maintaining its leadership position. The company’s fixed wireless access offering, JioAirFiber, has now become the world’s largest FWA service with over 74 lakh users across India.

Jio also crossed a major milestone in Odisha in May 2025 by surpassing 5 lakh combined JioFiber and JioAirFiber subscribers, further cementing its status as the state’s most preferred digital service provider.

Industry experts note that JioAirFiber’s rapid penetration in rural and semi-urban areas has played a pivotal role in overcoming last-mile connectivity issues. The service has significantly contributed to bridging the digital divide by providing high-speed internet access for households and small businesses.

With robust growth in all segments, Reliance Jio continues to set benchmarks in digital connectivity and remains at the forefront of India’s telecom revolution, particularly in regions like Odisha.
