Rajnath Singh Hails President Murmu’s Leadership

President Murmu Embodies Women-Led Development in India: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi, June 23 : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday hailed President Droupadi Murmu as the finest embodiment of women-led development in India, praising her leadership, resilience, and commitment to uplifting the deprived sections of society. He was speaking at the release of ‘Wings to Our Hopes (Volume-II)’, a curated compilation of 51 of President Murmu’s speeches.

Highlighting her role as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Singh noted that under her leadership, the historic Operation Sindoor was carried out, striking fear into the hearts of terrorists. He lauded the President for consistently encouraging armed forces personnel and for working tirelessly toward social empowerment.

“Through her life journey, President Murmu has set an inspirational example of access to education, equal rights, and opportunity for all,” Singh said. “The values of courage, hard work, service, and spirituality are deeply embedded in her life and echo through her speeches.”

The book, available in both Hindi and English along with a digital version, includes addresses to the nation, universities, and speeches focusing on innovation, gender equality, inclusivity, and India’s cultural heritage. Singh described the compilation as a guiding light for Viksit Bharat, India’s vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047.

“President Murmu’s thoughts align closely with the national priorities under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he added, calling the book a reflection of India’s civilisational depth and progressive future. He emphasized that her inclusiveness represents the spirit and character of the nation.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, also present at the event, described the book as a meaningful resource to understand contemporary issues from the lens of the country’s First Citizen. He expressed hope that it would introduce the President’s vision and public welfare approach to the younger generations.

Published by the Publications Division of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and compiled by Rashtrapati Bhavan, the second volume of Wings to Our Hopes continues the initiative to document and disseminate the evolving discourse on governance, inclusivity, national aspirations, and cultural legacy as articulated by President Droupadi Murmu.
