Adani denies handling Iranian cargo allegations

Adani Group Denies Handling Iranian Cargo, Refutes US Sanctions Probe Allegations
The Adani Group on Monday denied any involvement in handling cargo from Iran or Iranian-owned ships at its ports, dismissing reports of alleged sanctions violations as baseless.
In a statement filed with the stock exchange, the conglomerate called recent claims linking its entities to Iranian LPG imports “mischievous and unfounded.” The filing was made in response to a Wall Street Journal report suggesting that US prosecutors are investigating whether Adani group companies imported Iranian LPG into India via the Mundra port in Gujarat.
Adani emphasized that it does not engage in any deliberate sanctions evasion and is unaware of any US investigation targeting its operations.
The company’s firm denial aims to quell concerns over potential regulatory scrutiny amid ongoing global focus on compliance with Iran-related sanctions.
