Odisha Eyes Anti-Drone Security at Jagannath

Odisha Plans to Install Anti-Drone System at Jagannath Temple for Enhanced Security

The Odisha government is considering the installation of an advanced anti-drone system to strengthen security measures at the iconic Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.

Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan informed reporters on Friday that the system would be capable of detecting, tracking, and neutralizing unauthorized or potentially harmful drones in the temple vicinity.

“The idea of installing an anti-drone system, similar to those used by defence establishments, is under active consideration to ensure enhanced safety at the Puri temple,” said Harichandan.

This move comes amid growing concerns over the misuse of drones in sensitive areas, aiming to safeguard the temple, a major religious and cultural landmark attracting thousands of devotees annually.

The government has yet to finalize the installation plan and is likely to consult experts before implementing the system.
