Diksha Yadav Clinches Second Gold; Manipur, Nagaland Impress in Pencak Silat at Khelo India Beach Games

Maharashtra’s Diksha Yadav continued her golden run at the Khelo India Beach Games 2025, bagging her second consecutive gold medal in open sea swimming on the penultimate day of the event.

The 19-year-old swimmer, who had won the 10km race on Wednesday, displayed exceptional stamina and determination to triumph in the 5km race held at Ghoghla Beach on Thursday morning.

In a nail-biting finish, Diksha clocked 1 hour, 10 minutes, and 12 seconds, narrowly outpacing her state teammate Purva Gawade, who followed close behind with a time of 1:10:25s.

Diksha’s stellar performance earned her widespread acclaim as one of the standout athletes of the tournament, further boosting Maharashtra’s medal tally.

Meanwhile, Manipur and Nagaland made headlines in pencak silat, a traditional martial art, with athletes from both northeastern states delivering strong performances and securing multiple podium finishes. Their success underlined the growing strength and presence of northeastern talent on the national sports stage.

As the Khelo India Beach Games near their conclusion, the competition continues to witness high levels of enthusiasm, sportsmanship, and emerging talent from across the country.
