Police in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada district have apprehended fifteen Naxalites, including seven women, following an IED blast triggered during a security forces’ search operation. The incident occurred near Gumalnar village under Geedam police station limits, where a joint team of District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Bastar Fighters conducted the operation.

Dantewada Deputy Superintendent of Police, Unnati Thakur, confirmed the arrests, highlighting that the Naxalites detonated the explosive device during the search operation, though fortunately, no injuries were reported. The arrests were made swiftly after the blast, marking a significant development in the region’s ongoing efforts to maintain security amidst Naxal insurgency.
