Security Tightened Around Arun Jaitley Stadium After Blast Near Red Fort
Enhanced measures ahead of Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir

Security has been heightened in and around the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the national capital following a high-intensity explosion near the Red Fort, located just a few kilometres from the cricket venue. The move comes ahead of the final day of the Ranji Trophy Group D match between Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir scheduled for Tuesday.

Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) secretary Ashok Sharma confirmed that the association is coordinating closely with the Delhi Police to ensure the safety of players, officials, and spectators.

“Security will be beefed up near Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium (renamed Arun Jaitley Stadium) for the Ranji Trophy match between Delhi and Jammu & Kashmir. I will be in touch with the police authorities to request additional deployment outside the stadium premises,” Sharma told PTI on Monday.

The explosion near the Red Fort area on Sunday evening has prompted a comprehensive review of security arrangements across central Delhi. Police sources said additional personnel are being stationed at key public venues and sports facilities, with special focus on crowd management and perimeter checks.

Authorities have assured that all necessary precautions are being taken to ensure the smooth conduct of the match and the safety of all attendees.
