Rain, Kalbaisakhi Relieve Odisha, Cause Damage

Rain, Kalbaisakhi Bring Relief to Odisha; Trees Uprooted at CM’s Residence
After enduring an intense heatwave for over two weeks, Odisha finally received major relief on Monday as rain, accompanied by strong Kalbaisakhi winds, swept across several regions of the state.
The sudden downpour brought much-needed respite from soaring temperatures but also caused considerable disruption. According to officials, strong winds uprooted trees and electricity poles in various parts of the state, including the capital city, Bhubaneswar, leading to blocked roads and traffic snarls.
Notably, several trees were also reported to have fallen within the premises of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s official residence. However, no injuries were reported from the site.
Authorities have launched swift clearance operations to remove fallen trees and restore normalcy, particularly in heavily affected areas. Power restoration efforts are also underway where electricity infrastructure was damaged.
Meteorological officials have predicted more rain and thunderstorms in the coming days, bringing further relief to the people of Odisha as summer temperatures continue to dip
