Khelo India Dialogue 2026: PM Modi to Engage with Youth on India’s Sporting Journey

New Delhi, Aug 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Khelo India Dialogue on August 27 at 11 AM through video conferencing, providing young people across the country an opportunity to engage directly with India’s sporting journey and share their ideas and aspirations.

Organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) as part of the National Sports Day 2026 celebrations, the nationwide programme will be conducted with the participation of youth from two colleges in every district across States and Union Territories.

The initiative is aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of building a fit, disciplined and sporting nation while placing youth aspirations at the centre of the national development agenda.

The Khelo India Dialogue will bring together sports, youth leadership, civic responsibility, volunteering, fitness and nation-building on a common platform. It will provide young participants with an opportunity to contribute their perspectives to India’s evolving sports and youth ecosystem.

Following the national programme, local interactions will be organised with young participants, MY Bharat volunteers, local sportspersons and public representatives. The initiative will also facilitate direct interaction between youth interested in sports and leading Indian athletes and medal winners.

A key component of the programme will be Yuva Samvaad, where participants will articulate their ideas, perspectives and aspirations. The discussions will focus on five key themes: strengthening India’s sports ecosystem through better facilities, coaching and sports science; nurturing talent for the 2036 Olympics through scientific talent identification and long-term athlete development; creating youth leaders through governance platforms and volunteering; empowering young people to contribute to Viksit Bharat through civic-mindedness and future-ready skills; and promoting a Nasha Mukt Yuva movement through sports and peer networks.

The anti-drug movement will also be reinforced through weekly Jan Bhagidari activities under the Prime Minister’s 100-week nationwide campaign launched on August 2, 2026.

Through the Khelo India Dialogue, the government aims to strengthen youth participation in sports and nation-building while creating a platform where young voices can contribute to shaping India’s future as a fit, confident and developed nation.
