New Delhi, August 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday recalled the transformative journey of the Unified Payments Interface (UPI), which completed a decade since its rollout, describing it as a major turning point in India’s digital payments journey.
Highlighting the scale and reach achieved by UPI over the past ten years, the Prime Minister said its remarkable journey is something every Indian can be proud of. In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi said that UPI was rolled out a decade ago, marking a major turning point in the country’s digital payments journey.
“The sheer scale and reach of UPI are something every Indian must be proud of,” he said, while encouraging citizens to share their experiences and the ways UPI has changed their lives.
The Prime Minister’s appeal comes as UPI marks 10 years of its journey, during which digital payments have become an integral part of everyday transactions across India.
