Tata Power Launches ‘Oh My Beautiful Odisha 4.0’ Photography Contest

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company, which manages power distribution in Odisha in partnership with the state government, has announced the fourth edition of its photography contest, ‘Oh My Beautiful Odisha 4.0’, inviting photographers and photography enthusiasts to capture the state from perspectives that go beyond the familiar.

This year’s contest is themed ‘Hidden Treasures of Odisha’, celebrating the many lesser-known facets that contribute to the state’s distinctive identity. From its heritage, traditions, art forms and architecture to its landscapes, people, stories and relatively unexplored destinations, the contest encourages participants to look closely at the Odisha that often remains beyond the conventional tourist lens.

Through their photographs, participants can interpret the theme in their own way, bringing forward authentic and creative perspectives on the state’s diverse cultural and natural character. The initiative seeks to create a visual narrative that reflects the richness of Odisha while giving photographers an opportunity to showcase their creativity and storytelling.

As part of the contest, 13 photographs will be selected for the Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms Calendar 2027, 12 photographs representing the months and one for the cover page. The selected photographers will receive due credit wherever their photographs are used. Attractive cash prizes will also be awarded to the winners in recognition of their contribution to the contest and selection of their work for official use.

The entries will be evaluated on key parameters including composition, creativity, originality, authenticity, storytelling and adherence to the theme. The winners will be announced during a live event, celebrating the photographers and the distinctive stories and perspectives reflected in their selected photographs.

Terms and conditions to participate:

  1. The last date for submission is 20th September 2026.
  2. Each photograph must be under 10 MB in file size.
  3. Entries must be uploaded through the designated contest link. Participants are required to submit their photograph along with their name, mobile number, email ID, city and a brief description of the photograph.
  4. Only colour photographs will be accepted. Black & white photographs, including toned images, will be disqualified.
  5. All entries must be the participant’s original work, and the participant must be the sole copyright owner of the photograph.
  6. Photographs must be original and unpublished and must not contain, incorporate or otherwise use content, material or elements owned by any third party or violate any third party’s publicity, privacy or intellectual property rights.
  7. Entries must be captured in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  8. Participants must be able to provide a high-resolution digital file of their shortlisted entry.
  9. Participants from previous editions are welcome to participate but must submit fresh and new entries. Photographs submitted in previous editions will not be considered.
  10. Each winner must sign a declaration vetted by the legal team, confirming the originality of the photograph and certifying that no filters or AI-generated/AI-enhanced elements have been used.
  11. Upon selection, the shortlisted photographs will become the property of Tata Power-led Odisha Discoms, which will have the right to use them in its official publications, calendars, campaigns, digital platforms, social media, promotional materials and other communication initiatives. Photographers will be given due credit wherever their photographs are used, subject to the nature and format of the publication or communication medium.
  12. The cash prizes awarded to the winners will be considered recognition for their contribution to the contest and selection of their work for official use. By participating, entrants agree to the applicable terms relating to the use and ownership of shortlisted photographs and will be required to provide the necessary declaration and consent prescribed by the organisers.
