Odisha CM Launches 593 Urban Projects Worth Rs 323 Crore

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday launched 593 urban development projects worth Rs 323 crore across 62 cities and towns in the state.

The projects are aimed at strengthening urban infrastructure and improving civic amenities for residents across Odisha.

During the programme, Majhi also announced a financial package of Rs 560 crore for the development of 28 newly created Notified Area Councils (NACs) in the state.

Addressing officials of the municipal administration, the Chief Minister stressed the need to ensure timely delivery of government services to citizens.

“I appeal to municipal administration officials to ensure that citizens receive their rightful services on time. We must change the old system of making people visit government offices repeatedly,” Majhi said.

He emphasised the importance of making urban governance more citizen-centric and ensuring that people can access essential government services without unnecessary delays or repeated visits to government offices.

The launch of the projects across 62 cities and towns is expected to give a boost to urban infrastructure development in different parts of the state.

The Rs 560-crore package for the 28 new NACs is also expected to support the development of basic infrastructure and civic facilities in the newly notified urban areas.

The Chief Minister's directives underline the state government's focus on improving municipal services, strengthening urban infrastructure and making governance more accessible and responsive to citizens.
