Bhubaneswar, Aug 30 : Reliance Jio added a record 3.27 lakh new mobile subscribers in Odisha in July 2026, more than four times the additions made by its nearest rival Airtel, according to the latest telecom subscription data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).
TRAI data showed that Jio added 3,27,034 subscribers in Odisha during July, followed by Airtel with 80,405 and Vodafone Idea (Vi) with 9,667. State-run BSNL, meanwhile, recorded a decline of 4,707 subscribers during the month.
Driven by the strong subscriber additions, Odisha’s total wireless subscriber base grew by more than 4.12 lakh in July, taking the State’s total mobile connections beyond 3.9 crore.
Jio also continued to expand its presence in Odisha’s home broadband segment, adding around 11,000 JioAirFiber and JioFiber subscribers during July. Its total home broadband subscriber base in the State crossed eight lakh.
At the national level, Jio added more than 24 lakh mobile subscribers and over five lakh home broadband subscribers during July. The company’s total home broadband subscriber base across India has now crossed three crore.
Jio also leads the 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) segment nationally with 92.7 lakh subscribers and remains the sole provider of UBR fixed-wireless services in the country.
In Odisha, Jio now has around 1.85 crore mobile subscribers and more than eight lakh home broadband subscribers. The company said it has strengthened its position across wireless, wireline and FWA segments in the State.
The telecom operator has also expanded high-speed broadband connectivity to smaller towns and villages across Odisha, helping extend digital services and internet access to rural communities.
Since its commercial launch in Odisha in 2016, Jio has witnessed rapid subscriber growth. From 5.8 lakh users in its first month of operations in September 2016, its subscriber base has grown to around 1.85 crore by July 2026, representing an addition of nearly 1.8 crore subscribers over the past decade.
As of July 2026, Jio accounted for more than 47.4 per cent of Odisha’s 3.9 crore wireless connections, according to the company.
The latest figures indicate the continued expansion of mobile and broadband connectivity in Odisha, with increasing adoption of high-speed internet services across both urban centres and rural areas.
