Bhubaneswar, September 3: The Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) has approved the allotment of land to 37 industrial units, including major projects as well as initiatives aimed at promoting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), officials said on Thursday.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the IDCO Land Allotment Committee, chaired by IDCO Chairperson Usha Padhee, held on Wednesday.
Of the 37 approved proposals, 24 are major industrial projects, while the remaining 13 proposals are focused on promoting MSMEs. The land allotments are expected to facilitate the timely implementation of these projects across different parts of the state.
According to IDCO, the approvals are likely to contribute to the creation of local employment opportunities while strengthening regional industrial ecosystems. The projects are also expected to support the development of local supply chains and encourage greater economic activity in the regions where they are being established.
The latest approvals reflect Odisha’s continued efforts to facilitate industrial investments by making land available for new and expansion projects. Faster land allotment is expected to help investors move ahead with project implementation and contribute to the state’s broader industrial development.
