Actor Saiyami Kher says she has consciously taken up commercial films to reach a wider audience while continuing to choose roles that provide opportunities for creative growth.
Kher, who is awaiting the release of the upcoming film Haiwaan, has built a diverse filmography spanning content-driven cinema and mainstream entertainers. Her notable projects include 8 AM Metro, Choked and Ghoomer, as well as the commercial film Jaat, starring Sunny Deol, and the Marathi movie Mauli, featuring Riteish Deshmukh.
In Haiwaan, Kher plays a pivotal role alongside Bollywood stars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan.
The actor also credited filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, who directed her in Choked, for offering valuable advice about navigating her career. Kashyap encouraged her to take up commercial films to increase her visibility among audiences.
Following that advice, Kher has sought to strike a balance between mainstream cinema and performance-oriented projects. She believes commercial films can help actors connect with a larger audience while still allowing them to take on challenging roles.
Kher's approach reflects her effort to build a career that combines wider visibility with meaningful and varied performances.
