Joseph Quinn Confirms Exit from Stranger Things; Eddie Munson Won’t Return in Season 5

Stranger Things fans hoping to see the beloved Eddie Munson again will be disappointed, as actor Joseph Quinn will not be returning for the show’s upcoming fifth and final season.

The hit Netflix series, created by Matt and Ross Duffer, is set to release its new season on November 26. Despite months of speculation and fan theories suggesting Eddie’s possible resurrection, the creators have now confirmed that the character is gone for good.

In an interview with Empire, co-creator Matt Duffer addressed the rumors, saying, “I love that Joe Quinn is toying with people! But no, he’s dead. Joe is so busy anyway — he’s shot like five movies since! When has he got time to come and shoot Stranger Things? No, sadly, RIP. He’s fully under that ground.”

Joseph Quinn’s portrayal of Eddie Munson, the rebellious leader of the Hellfire Club, became an instant fan favorite during Season 4, particularly after his unforgettable guitar solo scene in the Upside Down. His death, however, left many viewers hoping for a miraculous return in the finale.

With this confirmation, Stranger Things 5 will continue without one of its most memorable characters, as the Duffer Brothers prepare to bring the acclaimed sci-fi horror saga to a close.
