CM Highlights Odisha’s Rising Industrial Growth

Odisha Emerges as Industrial Hub with Plug-and-Play Ecosystem: CM

Bhubaneswar, Apr 18 : Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday said Odisha is fast emerging as a major industrial hub, driven by a proactive policy framework, plug-and-play infrastructure, and decentralised decision-making.

Speaking at the inauguration of a state-of-the-art manufacturing unit of We-Track India Private Limited at Infovalley-II in Khordha, Majhi highlighted a strategic transformation in the state’s industrial landscape.

He noted that Odisha, which earlier focused largely on mining-based industries, has now diversified into emerging sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, textiles, and pharmaceuticals. The Chief Minister emphasised that the government’s plug-and-play ecosystem is enabling faster project implementation and attracting investments.

Majhi also announced that projects worth around Rs 2.80 lakh crore have already been grounded, with the potential to generate over two lakh employment opportunities in the near future. He reiterated the state’s long-term vision of becoming a 500 billion USD economy by 2036 and a 1.5 trillion USD economy by 2047.

Praising We-Track India Private Limited, founded by an Odisha entrepreneur, the Chief Minister said the company has emerged as a leading player in smart infrastructure and artificial intelligence, and is now the fourth-largest weighbridge manufacturer in India.

Highlighting the broader development trajectory, Majhi credited Narendra Modi’s ‘Purvodaya’ initiative for accelerating growth in eastern India, including Odisha.

The event was attended by Managing Director Pradeep Kumar Nayak, senior leader Sameer Mohanty, and other dignitaries. The inauguration marks another milestone in Odisha’s efforts to position itself as a preferred destination for industrial investment and innovation.
