BCCI seeks new sponsor after Dream11 exit

BCCI Begins Search for New Sponsor After Dream11 Exit

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has begun the hunt for a new title sponsor for the national cricket teams after fantasy sports company Dream11 pulled out of its sponsorship deal.

The development comes in the wake of the government’s newly enacted Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, which prohibits real money gaming. As a result, Dream11, which had been the team’s title sponsor, will not continue its association starting with the upcoming Asia Cup.

Confirming the exit, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said the board has already initiated the process to rope in a new sponsor. However, officials admitted that a replacement is unlikely to be finalised in time for next month’s continental tournament.

Dream11 had stepped in as team sponsor in 2023 after BYJU’S ended its association with Indian cricket. The sudden exit now leaves BCCI racing against time to secure a fresh partner.
