TSSEZL and Hygenco Collaborate for Green Hydrogen & Ammonia Project in Odisha
BHUBANESWAR: Tata Steel Special Economic Zone Limited (TSSEZL) and HHP Five Private Limited (Hygenco) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a green hydrogen and green ammonia project at TSSEZL’s Gopalpur Industrial Park (GIP) in Odisha’s Ganjam district.
As per the agreement, Hygenco will acquire land in Ganjam district to set up its green hydrogen, green ammonia, and derivatives unit. The project aims to produce 1 million tonnes per annum (1 MnTPA) of green hydrogen, with the initial phase scheduled for commissioning by December 2026.
Hygenco, renowned for its production of low-cost green hydrogen, envisions leveraging this partnership to further expand its operations and contribute to the green energy transition. The collaboration marks a significant step towards sustainable industrial development in Odisha, fostering economic growth while mitigating environmental impact.
The establishment of the green hydrogen and ammonia project underscores TSSEZL and Hygenco’s commitment to advancing clean energy technologies and driving the transition towards a greener, more sustainable future.
