Modi shares Subhashitam on public service

PM Shares Sanskrit Verse on People’s Welfare

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam underscoring the essence of a people’s representative, emphasizing that public service should remain the highest priority.

The verse — “प्रजासुखे सुखं राज्ञः प्रजानां च हिते हितम्। नात्मप्रियं प्रियं राज्ञः प्रजानां तु प्रियं प्रियम्॥” — highlights that the happiness and welfare of a leader lie in the happiness and welfare of the people, and that a true representative places public interest above personal preferences.

Marking the occasion of Panchayati Raj Day, the Prime Minister also extended greetings to public representatives across the country, lauding their dedication to public service and nation-building.

In a message posted on X, Modi said the commitment of grassroots representatives to जनसेवा (public service) and राष्ट्रसेवा (service to the nation) continues to inspire citizens nationwide.

The Prime Minister’s message reiterates the importance of ethical governance and people-centric leadership, particularly at the grassroots level.
