Salim Khan discharged after hospital treatment
Veteran screenwriter Salim Khan was discharged from a Mumbai hospital on Tuesday, nearly a month after being admitted following a brain haemorrhage, sources said.
The 90-year-old writer, one half of the iconic screenwriting duo Salim-Javed alongside Javed Akhtar, had been undergoing treatment at Lilavati Hospital in Bandra since February 17.
Doctors had earlier confirmed that Khan suffered a brain haemorrhage shortly after his admission. He was placed in the intensive care unit (ICU) and put on ventilator support as a precautionary measure. Medical experts had described his condition as stable following timely intervention.
Khan is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Hindi cinema, having co-written some of Bollywood’s most iconic films, including Sholay, Deewar and Don.
His discharge marks a positive development for fans and the film industry, with well-wishers expressing relief at his recovery. Further details about his health and recuperation at home are awaited.
