PM Modi to Launch Odisha Railway Projects

PM Modi to Flag Off Amrit Bharat Express, Unveil ₹1,700 Crore Railway Projects in Odisha on September 27
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha on September 27, where he will inaugurate a series of major railway initiatives and address a public gathering, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will flag off the Amrit Bharat Express, connecting Berhampur in Odisha with Udhna in Gujarat’s Surat district, via video conferencing. He will also dedicate and lay foundation stones for railway projects worth over ₹1,700 crore, aimed at strengthening connectivity and boosting economic activities in the state.
Originally, Modi’s public meeting was scheduled at Berhampur in Ganjam district, but the venue has been shifted to Amlipali Ground near Veer Surendra Sai (VSS) Airport in Jharsuguda, owing to forecasts of heavy rainfall in southern Odisha on that day.
Preparations are in full swing for the visit. Odisha Chief Secretary along with senior officials and Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari inspected the arrangements at Jharsuguda and held a preparatory meeting in Bhubaneswar. Directions have been issued to ensure smooth conduct of the event.
The Prime Minister’s visit is expected to give a major push to railway infrastructure in the region while also setting the stage for stronger connectivity between eastern and western India.
