New Trauma Care Centre to be Established at DDMCH in Keonjhar: CM Majhi

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Sunday that a new trauma care centre will be set up at the Dharanidhar Medical College and Hospital (DDMCH) in Keonjhar district.
Speaking at the 74th annual meet of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) state branch, Majhi emphasized the state government’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure. He assured that all necessary steps would be taken to transform DDMCH into a fully-equipped healthcare facility capable of catering to critical medical emergencies.
“The establishment of a trauma care centre will significantly improve emergency medical services in Keonjhar and nearby regions. Our government is dedicated to ensuring quality healthcare access for the people of Odisha,” the Chief Minister said.
The move comes as part of the state’s broader initiative to enhance healthcare services in underserved regions. With Keonjhar being a crucial district with a growing population, the trauma care centre is expected to provide timely medical intervention for accident victims and critical patients.
Healthcare professionals and local residents have welcomed the announcement, expressing hope that the new facility will bridge gaps in emergency healthcare services in the region.
Further details regarding the project’s timeline and funding are expected to be released by the state health department in the coming weeks.
