Ultra Gas Plans Rs 900Cr Expansion

Ultra Gas & Energy to Invest Rs 900 Crore to Expand LNG Autofuel Network

Ultra Gas & Energy Ltd (UGEL), an Essar Group venture, announced plans to invest Rs 900 crore to scale up its liquefied natural gas (LNG) retail network across India. The move aims to expand the company’s footprint as the largest private LNG station operator in the country.

Currently, UGEL operates six LNG retail outlets along major freight corridors, providing cleaner fuel access to industrial and logistics hubs. The existing stations are located in Bhilwara (Rajasthan), Anand (Gujarat), Chakan-Pune (Maharashtra), Jalna (Maharashtra), Toranagallu (Karnataka), and Vallam (Tamil Nadu).

“These Retail Outlets are strategically positioned to enable efficient access to LNG, supporting cleaner fuel adoption across key industrial and transportation corridors,” the company said in a statement.

The planned investment will fund the expansion of the network to 100 outlets nationwide, underscoring UGEL’s commitment to promoting sustainable energy solutions for freight and logistics sectors.

Industry analysts noted that the expansion could significantly reduce carbon emissions from heavy transport while catering to rising LNG demand across India’s industrial corridors.
