Passenger vehicle sales poised for rebound

Domestic Passenger Vehicle Volumes to Grow 5% This Fiscal: Tata Motors PV CEO
India’s domestic passenger vehicle (PV) market is expected to grow by around 5% in the current fiscal year, with a strong rebound anticipated in the second half, according to Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles MD and CEO Shailesh Chandra.
Despite a sluggish start, the April–September period registered only a 1.6% year-on-year decline in PV volumes. Chandra said demand revived significantly during the festive season, helping restore momentum in the market.
Speaking during an analyst call, he noted that the October–March period is expected to see double-digit growth driven by pent-up demand, improved supply chains, and continued consumer interest across segments.
Chandra added that the PV industry remains resilient and poised for a stronger performance in the months ahead.
