Odisha invites fresh Subhadra Yojana applications

Odisha govt begins fresh applications under women-centric Subhadra Yojana
BHUBANESWAR, Nov 1: The Odisha government on Saturday began inviting fresh applications under its flagship women empowerment initiative — the Subhadra Yojana — aimed at promoting financial inclusion and self-reliance among women across the state.
Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that women who have completed 21 years of age as on April 1, 2025, are eligible to apply under the scheme. The government has also allowed women aged between 21 and 60 years to submit applications.
“The Subhadra Yojana reflects the state government’s commitment to empowering women by ensuring their active participation in economic and social development,” Parida said while launching the fresh phase of the application process in Bhubaneswar.
Under the scheme, eligible women receive financial assistance and support for entrepreneurship, livelihood development, and self-help group activities. The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to strengthen women’s financial independence, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas.
Officials said application forms are available both online and offline through designated centers, including block offices and municipal bodies. The government has assured a transparent and hassle-free application process to ensure maximum participation.
The scheme has been lauded for its focus on inclusive growth and empowerment, with the government targeting to bring lakhs of women beneficiaries under its fold during the current fiscal year.
