Odisha CM Assures No Political Protection to Criminals, Voices Concern Over Crimes Against Women
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday asserted that his government has not provided political protection to any criminal during its 18 months of rule. He also expressed concern over crimes against women in the state.
Majhi made the remarks while responding to a debate in the Odisha Assembly on demands for the grant of the Home Department. Emphasising the government’s commitment to law and order, he stated that any criminal activity would be dealt with strictly according to the law, without influence from political considerations.
The Chief Minister further highlighted that the state administration remains vigilant in addressing crimes against women and ensuring their safety, reinforcing the government’s focus on law enforcement and public security.
Majhi’s statement comes amid heightened public scrutiny over law and order issues in Odisha, particularly concerning women’s safety, and reflects the state government’s intent to maintain accountability and strengthen protective measures.
