Odisha CM Launches 36 Industrial Projects Worth Rs 40,811 Crore

Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday launched 36 industrial projects worth Rs 40,811 crore, aimed at boosting economic growth and generating large-scale employment in the state.

According to officials, the projects are expected to create around 59,000 jobs across multiple sectors. Of the total, the Chief Minister inaugurated 11 industrial units and laid foundation stones for 25 others in the presence of senior officials and industry leaders.

The projects cover a wide range of sectors including green energy equipment, metals and downstream industries, textiles and apparel, plastics, tourism, agriculture and food processing, defence manufacturing, information technology, automobiles, and cement.

The initiative is seen as a major push to Odisha’s industrial development, strengthening its position as an emerging investment destination. Officials said the diversified nature of the projects would help drive balanced growth and create opportunities across various segments of the economy.

The state government reiterated its commitment to attracting investments and fostering an industry-friendly environment to accelerate development and employment generation.
