JC Flowers Withdraws NCLT Plea Against Dish TV

In a relief to Dish TV, JC Flowers Asset Reconstruction has withdrawn its petition filed before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) seeking to convene an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) of the company.

The development was disclosed by Dish TV in a regulatory filing on Wednesday, stating that the petition was withdrawn during the hearing before the Mumbai bench of the tribunal.

The plea, originally filed by JC Flowers Asset Reconstruction—acting as petitioner on behalf of Yes Bank—was submitted under Sections 98 to 100 of the Companies Act, 2013. It sought directions from the tribunal to call an EGM of Dish TV’s shareholders.

With the withdrawal of the petition, the immediate legal pressure on the direct-to-home service provider has eased. However, no specific reasons for the withdrawal were disclosed in the filing.

The case was being closely watched in corporate and investor circles, given its potential implications for governance and decision-making within Dish TV.
