Justice (Ms) Asha Menon (Retd), serving as Court Commissioner and Returning Officer, has declared the names of the elected members to the Veterinary Council of India today. The election, held under the authority of the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984, involved voting for eleven council members on June 8, 2024.

Utilizing a specially developed e-voting portal by the National Informatics Centre, over 36,000 registered veterinary practitioners participated in the electoral process. The initiative, praised for its user-friendly approach, aimed to maximize voter participation seamlessly.

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, which oversees these elections triennially, emphasized the importance of these democratic processes in shaping the governance of veterinary practices across India.
