Chitrangda Singh Reflects On Missed Roles

Missed Out on a Lot of Work, Trying to Make Better Choices: Chitrangda Singh
Actor Chitrangda Singh says looking back at the early phase of her career brings a sense of learning and introspection, as she reflects on several opportunities she let go of and the resolve it gave her to make wiser choices going forward.
Chitrangda made a striking debut in 2005 with Sudhir Mishra’s acclaimed political drama Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, earning praise for her powerful screen presence alongside Shiney Ahuja and Kay Kay Menon. Despite the strong start, the actor admits that her career trajectory could have been different had she accepted some notable projects that came her way.
“I missed out on a lot of work,” Singh said, adding that she was offered films such as Gangster, Tanu Weds Manu, and Mangal Pandey, but chose not to take them up for various personal and professional reasons. “You live and learn,” she noted, describing that phase as one that led to self-reflection and growth.
The actor believes those decisions, while difficult in hindsight, helped her understand herself better and shaped her outlook towards her career. Today, Singh says she is more mindful and determined to make better choices, focusing on roles that resonate with her as an artiste.
With years of experience behind her, Chitrangda Singh continues to evolve, viewing past missed opportunities not with regret but as lessons that have guided her journey in the film industry.
