Second Edition Of WAVES Doc Bazaar To Be Held In Mumbai Next Month

The second edition of WAVES Doc Bazaar will be held from June 16 to 18 in Mumbai, with the aim of supporting documentary, animation and short filmmakers through collaboration, mentorship and market access.

The event will take place alongside the Mumbai International Film Festival at the NFDC Complex, according to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry said the platform is designed to bring together established industry professionals and emerging talent from across the audiovisual sector. The initiative seeks to create opportunities for filmmakers to connect with producers, distributors, broadcasters and international collaborators.

The WAVES Doc Bazaar will focus on fostering creative partnerships and providing mentorship to independent filmmakers working in documentaries, animation and short-format storytelling. Organisers said the event will also help creators gain visibility and access to domestic as well as global markets.

The upcoming edition is expected to feature pitching sessions, panel discussions, networking opportunities and curated interactions between creators and industry experts.

Officials said the platform reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen India’s documentary and independent filmmaking ecosystem while encouraging innovation and cross-border collaboration in the audiovisual industry.
