Nation bids farewell to Asha Bhosle

The Indian film and music fraternity bid an emotional farewell to legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, as eminent personalities gathered at her residence in Mumbai on Monday to pay their last respects.

Veteran actor Asha Parekh, Oscar-winning composer A. R. Rahman, and cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar were among those who visited to honour the late singer, remembering her unparalleled contribution to Indian music.

Bhosle passed away on Sunday morning at the age of 92 due to multi-organ failure at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital, bringing an end to a remarkable career that spanned over seven decades. Known for her versatility and timeless voice, she recorded thousands of songs across multiple languages and genres, leaving an indelible mark on generations of listeners.

The final darshan is being held at her residence, Casa Grande in Lower Parel, where family members, friends, and admirers have been arriving in large numbers to pay homage. The public viewing will continue until 3 pm.
