Odisha dominate; Chandigarh, Haryana secure wins


Odisha registered a commanding win over Kerala, while Chandigarh and Haryana also notched up victories in their respective Division ‘A’ matches at the Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship in Rajgir on Tuesday.

In the opening match, Chandigarh produced a strong comeback performance to defeat Maharashtra 5–3 in a high-energy Pool A encounter. Maharashtra had taken the lead through Pravin Patiyal Pratham in the 21st minute, but Chandigarh skipper Sahil Duhan equalised in the 27th minute to shift momentum.

Odisha dominated proceedings against Kerala with an impressive all-round display, showcasing their strength in both attack and defence.

Haryana and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu also secured wins in their respective matches, adding to an action-packed day of hockey at the tournament.

The matches highlighted emerging talent from across the country, with teams displaying competitive spirit and tactical prowess in the ongoing championship.
