Hrithik Roshan backs filmmakers amid ‘Ramayana’ VFX debate
Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan has weighed in on the ongoing debate surrounding the VFX of the upcoming film Ramayana, urging audiences to appreciate filmmakers who push creative boundaries.
In a note shared on social media, Roshan praised directors and producers who invest significant resources and take risks to deliver new cinematic experiences. He emphasised that such efforts deserve encouragement rather than harsh criticism.
The actor also acknowledged filmmakers like his father Rakesh Roshan, noting the challenges involved in mounting large-scale projects that rely heavily on visual effects and advanced technology.
Highlighting examples of ambitious cinema, Roshan referenced films such as Kalki, Baahubali, and “Ramayana”, calling their makers “heroes” who possess the “guts and vision” to attempt something extraordinary.
Roshan, who is set to make his directorial debut with Krrish 4, said innovation in filmmaking often comes with risks and learning curves, particularly in areas like VFX where audience expectations are constantly evolving.
The debate over the visual effects of “Ramayana” has sparked mixed reactions online, with some viewers expressing concerns while others have defended the scale and ambition of the project.
Roshan’s remarks add a prominent voice to the conversation, advocating for a more supportive approach towards filmmakers striving to elevate cinematic storytelling through technology.
