IMD Predicts Rain Across Odisha Monday

IMD Forecasts Rain in All 30 Districts of Odisha on Monday
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday predicted widespread rainfall across all 30 districts of Odisha on Monday, owing to the formation of back-to-back low-pressure systems over the Bay of Bengal.
According to the IMD bulletin, an upper air circulation over the Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a low-pressure area within the next 24 hours. A fresh low-pressure system is also expected to develop around September 25.
“The system will move west-northwestwards and is very likely to become a depression over the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, off South Odisha–North Andhra Pradesh coasts, around September 26,” senior weather scientist Sanjeev Dwivedi said.
The forecast has raised concerns of heavy rainfall and possible waterlogging in low-lying areas across Odisha. The state government has alerted district administrations to remain prepared for emergency response, particularly in vulnerable coastal and interior regions.
Weather experts noted that the back-to-back systems are likely to enhance monsoon activity and could impact agricultural operations, while also replenishing reservoirs in the state.
