Yogesh Bahadur Khurania Assumes Office as Odisha DGP

Senior IPS officer Yogesh Bahadur Khurania has officially taken charge as the Director General of Police (DGP) for Odisha, following a notification from the state’s Home Department on Friday.
Khurania, a 1990-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer, succeeds A K Sarangi, who held the position since December 2023. Sarangi’s tenure came to an end, making way for Khurania to step into the role.
Upon his arrival at the state police headquarters in Cuttack, Khurania was welcomed with a guard of honor and introduced to senior police officials. This formal reception marks the beginning of Khurania’s leadership in overseeing the state’s law enforcement and public safety operations.
Khurania’s appointment as DGP comes at a crucial time, as the state continues to focus on enhancing security measures and addressing various law enforcement challenges. His experience and leadership are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Odisha’s police force and strengthening its commitment to maintaining law and order.
