Yashasvi Jaiswal Vows to Return Stronger After Australia Tour
New Delhi: Young India opener Yashasvi Jaiswal on Monday described his maiden tour of Australia as a valuable learning experience and expressed confidence in coming back stronger after India’s 1-3 series defeat in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
The 23-year-old left-handed batter was one of India’s standout performers, scoring 391 runs at an impressive average of 43.44, the second-highest in the series. Jaiswal’s most notable contribution came during the Perth Test, where he scored a brilliant 161-run knock, helping India secure a commanding 295-run victory.
In addition to his century, Jaiswal scored two half-centuries. However, India failed to retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, losing the fifth and final Test by six wickets at Sydney on Sunday.
Despite the series defeat, Jaiswal’s consistent performances have earned praise, and he remains determined to build on this experience for future challenges.
