Woman Killed, 8 Injured in Land Dispute Clash in Odisha’s Kendrapara

A violent clash over a long-standing land dispute in Sangrampur village, under the Rajkanika police station area, resulted in the death of a 52-year-old woman and left eight others injured, police reported on Thursday.
The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon when tensions between two groups over the disputed land escalated into physical violence. The deceased, identified as Sushila Nayak, was attacked with a wooden plank and succumbed to her injuries on the spot.
Local authorities were alerted immediately, and the injured individuals were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The condition of the injured remains stable, according to medical sources.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that the land dispute between the two groups has been ongoing for several years,” a police official stated. “Efforts are being made to bring the situation under control and prevent further violence.”
The police have launched an investigation into the incident and have assured that those responsible for the violence will be brought to justice. Additional police personnel have been deployed to the village to maintain law and order.
